Also a new addition to my store in 2015!

Bogatyr is considered a Marbled Purple Striped hard neck garlic (for those inquiring minds that want to know). Its origins are from Moscow.

It's an easy-to-grow garlic that's long standing in the garden, erect, and very upright. In soft, loamy soil you can almost pull it out with no digging! As far as I can tell, it flourishes in cold winters and in northern climates. My starts were sent to me from Pennsylvania, and it has done very well in the past two years during the coldest winters that Kentucky has seen in a few decades! I was able to turn one pound of medium bulbs into over five pounds of seed stock in 2014. I harvested a lot this year, and will know in a few weeks how many pounds of this big, lovely garlic I will be able to offer to my customers. Please email me if you'd like to add some to your order when it's in stock.
