Chesnok Red is adaptable to many growing conditions, but it also likes cold winters. It's done very well for me in Kentucky and our last winter was a doozy--cold, snowy, and icy. Plants are upright and hold well in the garden. The stiff necks makes them easy to harvest with very little digging if your ground is soft; we pulled most of ours out free style.
Please consider this garlic if you'd like a easy to peel garlic that's ideal for cooking and baking. A lot of people have told me it's THE sweetest garlic when cooked--very mild and aromatic. I just had to add it to my inventory after hearing that. Pictures will follow once my harvest has been inventoried.
