METECHI GARLIC - seed bulbs

The plants are more upright and broader leafed than others and have a large bulbil capsule and bulbils. The bulbs are nicely colored. Cloves are few, but large and fat, with blushed and lined skins that are thick. Long storing. Raw it tastes fiery hot but with a nice finish. Can grow into very big bulbs!

Due to a very wet season here in Kentucky this year, a lot of my hard neck garlic did not have enough time to size up. Metechi did better than others, but still gave me about 50/50 when it comes to seed size and culinary sized bulbs. I hope to grow more seed sized bulbs in 2023.

I think Metechi will do best in zones 6 or colder.

Metechi is known to be one of THE spiciest garlic varieties when eaten raw!
