Vekan Garlic

Vekan is a Glazed Purple Stripe variety. It originates from the Czech Republic.  I love it for its vivid purple-streaked skin, easy-to-peel shiny pink cloves, and rich flavor.

Bulbs generally contain 8 to 12 medium sized cloves.

As mentioned before, the taste is very rich and some even describe it as earthy.

Growth habit includes dark green and upright plants.  If cleaned immediately upon harvesting by taking off their most outer layer, they cure to a beautiful purple color, making them excellent for green garlic and early farmers market sales.

This is a delightful choice for anyone who likes to grow unique or special garlics.

A rich and earthy garlic when raw, it cooks up sweet, creamy, and delicious!
