CHEROKEE GARLIC - culinary bulbs

Starting at: $5.95

The Cherokee gentleman who gave me starts of this wonderful hardneck garlic knows of it being in his family for more than 70 years. It was grown by the Cherokee Indians wherever they traveled. I acquired starts from him in 2006 and have been growing it ever since. It is one of our family's favorite garlics: sweet and tasty when baked. We love spreading it on crackers with Brie. I think your family would enjoy this variety, too.

Culinary Garlic is the SAME garlic that's in my store, only it's the smaller bulbs that are better for eating than for planting. If you're planning on eating most of the garlic you buy from me (rather than planting it, although you can also plant culinary garlic), then you can save 30% by ordering culinary garlic instead of seed garlic).

2021 was a VERY wet season, and that's not good for hard neck varieties of garlic that need to stay in the ground a long time to size up. So Cherokee, as my other hard neck varieties, were pulled early (rather than letting them rot in the ground). As a consequence, I have MORE culinary bulbs that seed-sized bulbs. I hope 2022 will be better!

Buy CULINARY BULBS! They're less expensive, and as long as you plant them in nitrogen rich soil, they should size up well for you :-)

Culinary bulbs are less than 1.75" across.
