MEXICAN RED SILVER GARLIC - seed bulbs

Mexican Red Silver is another Silverskin variety that will store very well. It was the variety that stayed green the longest in my garden, but unfortunately we had too much rain near harvest time and I lost the biggest and best bulbs to thin wrappers.

I started with 1# two years ago, replanted all and had a very nice harvest until the rains. Therefore, I only have 1# of culinary sized bulbs to sell this year since I am replanted all of the bigger bulbs' cloves.

It's a Silverskin variety with an artichoke layering system inside. It's one of the latest garlic to be harvested, and it's one of the best to braid (as are all silver skins). Silverskins are known for good storage ability. The previous varieties I used to grow stored for almost a year in a cool room through winter.

This may be the last year for this variety. It doesn't size up as well as my Nootka Rose.
